review-Vidhu Vinod Chopra is bac into direction after 7 long years and makes his comback the one to be remembered!A majestic citadel in jaipur. A royal dynasty that no longer rules. A king without a kingdom.Yet Eklavya (Amitabh Bachchan), their royal guard, lives in a time and space warp. He lives only to protect the fort, the dynasty and the king. For nine generations Eklavya's family has protected Devigarh. His marksmanships are stuff of legends. His unflinching loyalty inspires ballads. Eklavya has spent his entire life serving the royals and closely guarding their secrets but now he's getting old and increasingly blind.Unable to cope with the suffocating customs of his land, the heir, Prince Harshwardhan (Saif Ali Khan), has stayed away in London. But the sudden demise of the queen, Rani Suhasinidevi (Sharmila Tagore), forces the Prince back to the kingdom he had left behind. The Prince's return brings a rush of joy into the fort. His mentally challenged twin sister, Princes Nandini (Raima Sen) and his childhood love Rajjo (Vidya Balan) are delighted to see him. But the joy of reunion is short-lived.There is unrest in the kingdom: Farmers are being stripped of their lands. The king,Rana Jayawardhan (Boman Irani),influenced by his brother, Rana Jyotiwardhan (Jackie Shroff), supports the atrocities being forced upon the helpless peasants. The king receives a death threat over the phone. An irreverent police officer, Pannalal Chohar (Sanjay Dutt), is called into investigate. But he might be too late. The fragile peace of the land is suddenly shattered by a barrage of bullets. And amidst the mayhem, the safety guarded secrets of the fort are unveiled. What follows is a contemporary, edge-of-the-seat dramatic action thriller! The concept of the movie is derived from 'the Mahabharatha' including the theme sloka 'dharmotkrishathi mathibyaha' which means the dharma changes with the mind!Saif Ali Khan struggles with his lines in the movie but he is very good in parts!Amithab is silent in the movie and his patriarch speeches are missed in the movie although silence speakes volumes for him!The rest of the cast do justice to their respective roles! The story and the climax of the movie are the ones to watch out for!The duration is just 1 hr 40 minutes....but u never feel the movie is short! All and all a fantastic watch!A must see movie...................

Bin Laden's Rather unusual Connection.

Al Qaeda is computer savvy, and some investigators believe they have found markers or code words that indicate bin Laden is trying to signal supporters that he is alive.GBW reported earlier this year that al Qaeda has used at least one Web site to post information and keeps changing the site's address to stay ahead of investigators.
Authorities also are investigating information from detainees that suggests al Qaeda members - and possibly even bin Laden - are hiding messages inside photographic files on pornographic Web sites. So Dont be surprized if you surf the net and suddenly Bin Laden pops up!!!!! :):)

In an audiotape broadcast on the Al Jazeera television network last month, al Qaeda spokesman Sulaiman Abu Ghaith said that bin Laden, his top lieutenant Ayman al-Zawahiri and "98 percent of the leadership of al Qaeda are safe" and planning new attacks against the United States. Taliban leader Mullah Omar was also alive, he said."I really want to assure the Muslims that Sheikh Osama bin Laden, with the mercy of Allah, is in a good health, and all rumors about Sheikh Osama's sickness or injuries in Tora Bora is completely inaccurate news," he said. Bin Laden would soon appear on television, Abu Ghaith said.
Alive or dead, bin Laden remains a powerful symbol."Those people who are going to rally behind him are going to rally behind him dead or alive," said Shibley Telhami, a Middle Eastern studies professor at the University of Maryland. "You're going to have a core that, no matter what happens to him, are going to be his core supporters."He is terrifying to Middle Eastern elites. He is terrifying to Middle Eastern governments," Telhami said."He is terrifying to those who aspire to have a normal life because ... if it could be done to the United States, it could be done to them."

Movie Review:Salaam-e-Ishq

Cast:Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Akshaye Khanna, John Abraham, Sohail Khan, Juhi Chawla, Ayesha Takia, Vidya Balan, Ishaa Koppikar, Shannon Esra
rating-**1/2
review-:Six loves stories woven into one and director Nikhil Advani falls flat while trying to hold the script together. It’s no easy task to tell a story convincingly on a canvass as big as 70mm and when it involves six individual stories one has to have the finesse of a master story teller and the editing skills like Edward Scissorhands. Since none of these are happening, the film goes haywire and clocks three-and-a-half hours. Not done. It only goes to prove once again that a big star cast alone does not necessarily guarantee you a hit.Clearly no one has control over the proceedings as the film moves into its first few reels in the first half. The characters are meandering in and out leaving the viewer in a daze and when songs are interjected without any rhyme or reason you wonder what’s happening to your senses. It was a trip back in time for me, to the early nineties when the audience would walk out of the theatres during a song and if you were watching at home, you would fast forward the song. After the interval, the script does get a little tighter though but then again, one is expected to leave your brains behind. Like for example, how on earth Salman Khan lands at Ayesha Takia’s wedding, which incidentally is the grand finale? It was a typical scene like in the good Ol Hindi movies when the entire cast would assemble along with the cops who would always be late! Salman is neither Ayesha’s brother nor friend nor a relation of any of her relations!!! But he is there because it makes it easier for the director to have them all under one roof.To hear Salman speak one has to strain his ears. Govinda as the taxi driver along with his phirang co-star Shannon Esra packs a punch. Clearly it’s Shanon who steals a march over the much touted and much acclaimed Bollywood actresses, Ayesha Takia and Priyanka Chopra. She portrays her simplicity and vulnerability with such graceful charm that your heart reaches out to her. Akshaye Khanna proves that he needs a brilliant author-backed role to get the best of him. He shines in patches. Clearly this is one actor who has not gotten his due. One longs to see the Arjun of Vijay, (1988) and Mahesh Deshmukh, Munna of Tezaab. But I guess, Anil Kapoor will have to be satisfied with bit roles like these. All and all,a mediocre 3 hours 45 minutes spent ..not to mention the cash.....

Misc. : 'UFO' Cover-Up [An Exclusive Interview]

http://img10.imagepile.net/img10/54090_41640914_gary_mckinnon_gettycr_203.jpg
Gary McKinnon was arrested by the UK's national high-tech crime unit, after being accused of hacking into Nasa and the US military computer networks.
He says he spent two years looking for photographic evidence of alien spacecraft and advanced power technology.

America now wants to put him on trial, and if tried there he could face 60 years behind bars.

Banned from using the internet, Gary spoke to Click presenter Spencer Kelly to tell his side of the story, ahead of his extradition hearing on Wednesday, 10 May. You can read what he had to say here. :-

Spencer Kelly: Here's your list of charges: you hacked into the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Department of Defense, and Nasa, amongst other things. Why?

Gary McKinnon: I was in search of suppressed technology, laughingly referred to as UFO technology. I think it's the biggest kept secret in the world because of its comic value, but it's a very important thing.

Old-age pensioners can't pay their fuel bills, countries are invaded to award oil contracts to the West, and meanwhile secretive parts of the secret government are sitting on suppressed technology for free energy.

SK: How did you go about trying to find the stuff you were looking for in Nasa, in the Department of Defense?

GM: Unlike the press would have you believe, it wasn't very clever. I searched for blank passwords, I wrote a tiny Perl script that tied together other people's programs that search for blank passwords, so you could scan 65,000 machines in just over eight minutes.

SK: So you're saying that you found computers which had a high-ranking status, administrator status, which hadn't had their passwords set - they were still set to default?

GM: Yes, precisely.

SK: Were you the only hacker to make it past the slightly lower-than-expected lines of defence?

GM: Yes, exactly, there were no lines of defence. There was a permanent tenancy of foreign hackers. You could run a command when you were on the machine that showed connections from all over the world, check the IP address to see if it was another military base or whatever, and it wasn't.

The General Accounting Office in America has again published another damning report saying that federal security is very, very poor.

SK: Over what kind of period were you hacking into these computers? Was it a one-time only, or for the course of a week?

A bird or a plane?... Gary was not able to get a picture of what he saw
GM: Oh no, it was a couple of years.

SK: And you went unnoticed for a couple of years?

GM: Oh yes. I used to be careful about the hours.

SK: So you would log on in the middle of the night, say?

GM: Yes, I'd always be juggling different time zones. Doing it at night time there's hopefully not many people around. But there was one occasion when a network engineer saw me and actually questioned me and we actually talked to each other via WordPad, which was very, very strange.

SK: So what did he say? And what did you say?

GM: He said "What are you doing?" which was a bit shocking. I told him I was from Military Computer Security, which he fully believed.

SK: Did you find what you were looking for?

GM: Yes.

SK: Tell us about it.

GM: There was a group called the Disclosure Project. They published a book which had 400 expert witnesses ranging from civilian air traffic controllers, through military radar operators, right up to the chaps who were responsible for whether or not to launch nuclear missiles.

They are some very credible, relied upon people, all saying yes, there is UFO technology, there's anti-gravity, there's free energy, and it's extra-terrestrial in origin, and we've captured spacecraft and reverse-engineered it.

SK: What did you find inside Nasa?

GM: One of these people was a Nasa photographic expert, and she said that in building eight of Johnson Space Centre they regularly airbrushed out images of UFOs from the high-resolution satellite imaging. What she said was there was there: there were folders called "filtered" and "unfiltered", "processed" and "raw", something like that.

I got one picture out of the folder, and bearing in mind this is a 56k dial-up, so a very slow internet connection, in dial-up days, using the remote control programme I turned the colour down to 4bit colour and the screen resolution really, really low, and even then the picture was still juddering as it came onto the screen.

But what came on to the screen was amazing. It was a culmination of all my efforts. It was a picture of something that definitely wasn't man-made.

It was above the Earth's hemisphere. It kind of looked like a satellite. It was cigar-shaped and had geodesic domes above, below, to the left, the right and both ends of it, and although it was a low-resolution picture it was very close up.

This thing was hanging in space, the earth's hemisphere visible below it, and no rivets, no seams, none of the stuff associated with normal man-made manufacturing.

[_41641102_ufo_203.jpg]
[this is the picture he is talking about]

SK: Is it possible this is an artist's impression?

GM: I don't know... For me, it was more than a coincidence. This woman has said: "This is what happens, in this building, in this space centre". I went into that building, that space centre, and saw exactly that.

SK: Do you have a copy of this? It came down to your machine.

GM: No, the graphical remote viewer works frame by frame. It's a Java application, so there's nothing to save on your hard drive, or at least if it is, only one frame at a time.

SK: So did you get the one frame?

GM: No.

SK: What happened?

GM: Once I was cut off, my picture just disappeared.

SK: You were actually cut off the time you were downloading the picture?

GM: Yes, I saw the guy's hand move across.

SK: You acknowledge that what you did was against the law, it was wrong, don't you?

GM: Unauthorised access is against the law and it is wrong.

SK: What do you think is a suitable punishment for someone who did what you did?

GM: Firstly, because of what I was looking for, I think I was morally correct. Even though I regret it now, I think the free energy technology should be publicly available.

I want to be tried in my own country, under the Computer Misuse Act, and I want evidence brought forward, or at least want the Americans to have to provide evidence in order to extradite me, because I know there is no evidence of damage.

Nasa however told that it does not discuss computer security issues or legal matters. It denied it would ever manipulate images in order to deceive and said it had a policy of open and full disclosure, adding it had no direct evidence of extra-terrestrial life.

Misc. : An Age Old Dilemma [ Man Mahon Singh Under Scrutiny]

India suffered a major stroke as Current Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was shown as a traitor in one of the dailies. The extracts from the daily are-
"Accusation against Manmohan Singh-
leakage of the super intelligence report of India preparing to test the nuclear weapon under Narasimha Rao's tenure in 1991-96 despite repeated pressure of the US to sign the NPT(nuclear non proliferation treaty).
the connection-ManMohan Singh was finance minister at that time and one of the few people
knowing abt the testing.
the evidence-

1)ManMohans Us and UN connection:his work at the UN, International Monetary Fund and other international bodies and alleged reports of him receiving foreign post allowance, pension and other funds from the same!(the UN's hope of banning countries from using N-Power is accordiative)

2)his yielding personality and his alleged reputation of succumbing under pressure.

3)His rift with co-partyman Natwar Singh on the same issue leading to the latter being
thrown out from the party. He is alleged to have made the foreign minister the scrapegoat!

4)Frequent rumours in the US abt their Informant, code name McMahon in India with a very high post!(the name mcmahon has striking similarity to manmohan!) "

Misc. : It isn't like that [Poem]

http://www.basehead.org/files/shots/1-broken_heart.jpg
What be that secret
that keeps you far from here
and still can't find

I am counting hours and moments
for all that you erased from the past
for what you hide and don't tell

Getting lost in myself
But there is something to be said

Love isn't like that
to get enmeshed with the tear
to ache you so deeply

Love isn't like that
wrong you have been taught of
and you make my heart bleed

Your eyes like the fire
are burning my way again

I fought inside me for long
crossed land and sky
to able you to love

I gave body and soul
to earn a moment
but you denied it too

We got lost by time
but I had too much to tell you

Movie Review :Dhoom-2

Cast-Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu, Uday Chopra

review-:this film comes in the catogory of those films which were downsized because of one mishapping scene. The director sanjay gadvi really lost the plot in the climax scene.the movie starts in an exciting note with hrithik(then mr a) robs a train carrying a priceless
crown in the deserts of namibia.he then strings an array of other robberies thus completing an A in the globe of which the last destination happens to be mumbai.this piece of information is spotted by jai dikshith(jr bachan),a sharp n maverick cop in the mumbai police ably supported by his partner ali(chopra).he prepares for this thievry but is outsmarted by Mr A who now suddenly has an apprentice in Sunehri(rai).soon the 2 thieves fall in love in the wake of their final robbery which is supposed to make them stinking rich.but like every hindi film, bad guys always end up in big trouble.aryan the mr perfect finds out a crack in his plan that ruins the entire robbery n puts him in dire straits.
the crack shocks him to an extent that he fights death like never b4.the rest is history as they say or maybe atleast for the audience.this movie is glamorous, hot, fast and thrilling.
No fancy vehicles but the scenes are spell binding.but the movie essentially turns out to be a love story and thats the misery of it all!!U can watch it for entertainment but never for preethams music .u can also watch it for a collection of bikinis and lingrie worn by the 2 glamgals.as far as acting goes hirithik stands out,but the remaining crew are average! We can call this 1 a viewers choice!!

Movie Review : Casino Royale

Cast-: Daniel Craig, Eva Green, Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright, Mads Mikkelsen, Caterina Murino.
Review-:The film goes back to the drawing board and traces the way Bond invents himself. He has just been given the "00" status! The movie by Martin Campbell, who also directed Pierce Brosnan in "Goldeneye", is dramatically streamlined. There are no expensive explosions or nifty gadgets - just great action sequences. Atypical of it's predecessors, this movie's action sequences consists of the enemy being drowned in the washbasin, choked in a hotel stairwell or just being chased through a construction site - one of the most simple but exhilarating action sequences of any Bond movie. This movie, in many ways, is the antithesis of the Bond archetype. It takes Bond almost half way into the movie to put on his tuxedo. Before this, he walks around in ordinary looking but comfortable street clothes that accentuate Craig's physique and prominent biceps. The penultimate fight between the hero and villain is settled over a game of poker at the Casino Royale and the winner is determined through a test of character and not physical strength. In the most revealing line of the uniqueness of this movie, a bartender when taking the order of martini asks Bond, "Shaken or stirred?" and Bond spits back at him, "Do I look like I give a damn?"The supporting actors compliment the look and feel of the film. French actress Eva Green is stunning but also brings in a great touch of coolness and vulnerability. She, unlike other Bond girls, is more intellectual and natural. Her scenes with Craig are subtle yet intense and their sexual chemistry radiates throughout. The villain Le Chiffre is played by Mads Mikkelsen who has blood for tears and unlike other Bond villains does not care about power or running the world but wants money instead. Craig is also the first Bond to hurt and bleed properly. He stands in front of the bathroom mirror taking in the pain and needing a scotch to numb the pain. His scars remain the next day and the movie shows the time they take to heal. As an actor, Craig brings in a lot more pure acting skills and athletic prowess. The film strives to be more rooted in reality than the fantasy world of the earlier Bond movies.A breath-taking watch!!!!

Misc. : Fairy tale "mirror" [Poem]

http://www.trowbridgegallery.com.au/mirror_room_pages/mirrors_images/104.jpg
One day in the village came the "tarantula-woman"
and everybody rushed to see her
Someone threw some bread to her
and others threw stones at her
to save themselves from her ugliness...

And a child gave her a red flower, a single child

And she said "Don't ever tell them
how ugly they seem
those who despise you
but stand there staring"

And she said "Don't ever look
the others in the eyes
because you become a mirror
and they all break you to pieces"

One day in the village came
a wounded angel
they brought him in a cage
and the wild crowd bought tickets
to see his beauty

And a child, a pretty little angel like a tear
A child asked him to sing a song

And he said "If you want to save yourself
from your own beauty
take an axe and a sword
and cut off your wings"

And he said "Don't ever look
the others in the eyes
because you become a mirror
and they all break you to pieces"

I like not saying much
I like to stare high
In the endless sky

With my shadow to fly,
to fetch stars from the seabed
the seabed of your music

And when the coldness falls
To make circles like a full moon
Full moon over your tent

To have been the blurry lights
To have been the stars bright
In your hands to leave them

My eyes, seek to find me
Seek in the streets of silence,
alone,
will fade in my figure.

Celeb : Abhishek and Aish get engaged

kuch08v.jpg
Its Official!! Abhishek Bachan proposed Aishwariya Rai yesterday night at the premiere of Guru and she accepted . Father and superstar Amitabh Bachan seems to be all excited about this news. Abhishek's work in the film guru seems to have doubled his joy .
The date for the wedding is yet to be decided. The families have agreed to Aishwarya and Abhishek entering wedlock. It must be mentioned that it was earlier reported that an astrologer close to both the families was consulted to match the janampatris of both the stars.

Aishwarya Rai and AB Jr, however, had kept their fans guessing whether the relationship between them is just friendship or something more for more than 2 months now.Aishwarya was always tightlipped and Abhishek diplomatic when answering the questions regarding their relationship. In a recent TV interview, the two spoke about each other, but in very cautiously chosen words. I'm sure many of Aishwariya's fans like me are a bit disappointed but i wish her the very best in her married life.

Movie Review : Guru

Cast -: Abhishek Bacchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vidya Balan, Madhavan, Mithun chakraborthy
Official Wbsite -: http://www.msnspecials.in/guru/index1.asp
The interesting part of guru isnt the movie itself but its striking resemblence to Dhirubahi Ambani's Life story. Gurukanth Desai, the son of a small time crack dealer of rural gujarat holds high aspirations and in the process drops out of school.he tries to establish himself among the other petty businessmen of the locality.soon he strikes 'gold' in one of his fields and starts a small time company in the name of shakti limited. In the meantime he marries a rural gujarathi girl Sujatha ( Rai). He seeks his fortune and the good fate of his company in a distant land of turkey.he makes rapid strides in his business by convincing almost half the gujarathis of his land to buy his shares and earns a fortune for them through polyester which is on the rise at that time.his aggression and success make him earn not only money but a lot of enemies.the press starts printing false news abt him and his company.he falls prey to the wrath of many reputed personalities and also the public.Guru is an epic of how he comes out of his troubles with an iron fist. The movie is interesting in parts and a bit dragging in the end.Abhishek delivers the performance of his life and Aish delivers a performance much to be desired.Madhavan and Mithunda deliver performances of power in whatever small roles they hav got and are good in the movie.Musically the film is average and even big names like A r Rehman and gulzar(music director and liricist) fail to do justice.the story has striking resemblence to ambani sr as mentioned earlier considering the story.even the logo of shakti limited resembles the original logo that ambani had for his company, not to mention ambanis visit to turkey almost at the same time.THis film takes us thro the 1960-1980's ,the same peroid of the rise of reliance.Dispite all these similarities, mani ratnam scornfully denies any recemblence which is also shown at the starting of the movie specifically.all and all a character oriented movie packed with powerful performances.the usb of the film is its resemblence to ambani's story.watch it only for the acting and not for anything else!
